I know I asked this already (kinda)! For horse people.?
When I asked that question, I didn’t have this horse. The question I asked before was like this, but this time I need answers that explain how to do it. I want to change my western horse english. His previous owner rode him in a western endurance saddle and jumped him. I finally got this beautiful english saddle and it looks and fits him so well! He hasn’t been ridden in four months, according to his previous owner. Like the best answer for my other question about this, it would be a challenge to change a western pleasure horse into an eventer. And they have to be right. He is so eager to go out and I am too. I was thinking about putting him on an exercise plan, so he can get accustomed to english and riding again. If you have any suggestions on how to do it or if I should at all, you can include that. I should defiantly ride him when the little ones are at school. Also, if you have any idea how to get your gaited horse to gait again, you can post that, too.
lunge him in it…and as far as bringing him back goes…i have a QH who has been english all his life and recently had to use a wetern saddle for a trail ride…he seemed to not even notica.
i would bring him back into work slowly.
walk for a week slowly building up on time
then walk trot. like walk 25 mins trot five
then 20/10
then 15/.15 then bring canter in until his flat is strong. dont do moe than he is ready. if he is a nice hors eand you want him to stay nice…take time with him and bing him back up slowly and carefully, if his trot isnt great…dont canter etc.
the saddle shpi;d be no difference, really.
